Happy New Year!

May the new year bring you health, happiness and peaceful hearts... and why not a little wealth...? (which you can enjoy so much more if you have the others...)

We celebrated our wedding anniversary last night and this morning we went for a walk before breakfast and then talked book ideas over a cuppa on the verandah. For me, there's no better way to start a new year. I hope you've had a good start to yours...

Dear Barbara, Merry Christmas, Ha0ppy New Year and Happy Anniversary. That's a hat-trick!! I hope you have a wonderful year.
PS I loved your newest book, I didn't think that it would be Joe and Ellie's story, so it was a nice surprise when it was!!!

Thank you, 2paw. Sorry about the slow reply, but I've been away -- and also haven't been very well, but can feel that I'm now bouncing back. I'm afraid I was very slow to promote Joe and Ellie's story, which is probably why it was a surprise. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you!!

I hope you are feeling well now Barbara: even though I read the blurb for the Soldier book, you tricked me. I thought that the story couldn't be about Joe and Ellie because surely they had drifted too far apart to ever be together again. I liked being surprised, liked not knowing what was going to happen!! I am old and jaded and cynical and I can usually guess what is going to happen in most books and TV shows ans films even if I haven't read a spoiler (I KNEW what would happen at the end of Foyle's War tonight!!!!) It was lovely to feel like an unknowing reader again!!!

Wow -- I'm amazed that I tricked you, but that's great. Foyle's War was very good, wasn't it? Although I guessed what had happened, too.
