I'll be chatting on ABC regional Queensland radio this afternoon, with Michael Clarke (not the cricketer :) and Cameron Burgess.
We'll be talking about romance and the Queensland Writers' Centre workshop that I'll be giving in Townsville on Saturday, and there'll be a fun talkback competition for the best opening line of a romance novel.
Please join me if you can at 2.20 pm.
Or if you can't join me there -- why not send me an opening line here on this blog? We'll talk about favourite openings of novels, and I'll send the winner a signed copy of my lovely Australian edition of A Miracle For His Secret Son.

Is that 1-20pm AEDST??
2paw, it's Queensland regional radio -- so I' don't think it will be broadcast nationally, but yes, it would be 1.20 daylight saving time.
I had hoped to be able to listen online, but it only has NewsRadio. Maybe you will be a podcast. Ad I think you will be on at 3-20 my time. I have a cold and so my brain isn't working properly. But, I am reading your new book, it arrived in the post today. I am loving it so far!! Of course!!
Unfortunately, they were pretty busy and I wasn't able to ask if there's a podcast. As it was mainly talkback radio, it may not be. I'll keep a look out.
Meant to say, 2paw, hope your cold is better soon.
Hi Barb, Helene Young gave me instructions to shoot on over here and leave my suggestion for an opening line for a romance novel, so here it is :).
It took Jack Fenwick a little while to realise his heart had deserted him.
Sandy, thanks for joining in and I love your opening!! I'm really intrigued. I want to know why and what happens next.
Sorry, Barb, absolutely no idea - as yet, though I may use it as the opening sentence in a future novel.
Barbara, I can listen to you here:

I thought I would pop along to the radio station site and just see if you were there and you are!! How lovely to hear your voice!!
Thank you, I still have my cold, it's all Pride and Prejudice's Jane here because I can't take anything except paracetamol. Still, the Labradors are good nurses!!
Oh and you gave away hints about your next book!!! Sounds very intriguing and how can it ever possibly work out????
Thanks so much for that link, 2paw. I'll put it up on the next blog post. Michael Clarke was such a great compere. He really made me feel v relaxed. Unfortunately, they haven't included the talkback section with all the listeners ringing in with their opening lines for a romance novel. It was fabulous fun.
Sandy, as you are my sole online participant, I'd love to send you a copy of my latest book,
Just send me your address via my website email -- barbara( dot) hannay @ yahoo.com
