I'm home again after a week down south helping my elderly and increasingly frail mum prepare for the difficult move from her beautiful acreage garden into a retirement home. I've had no internet access, which felt VERY strange. I've been so used to feeling connected... How are you all? I hope the heat and fires haven't been too terrible for you.
Here's a photo from the past... from one of the happiest days of Mum's long life...

Hi Barb,
It's a sad occasion when your parent/s have to move into a retirement place. As you know I've just done that myself. My father took some of his plants with him. Did you Mum take a few plants with her?
At least you know that she will be looked after there which helps ease your mind.
As life goes on you swap roles, don't you?? I worry about my mum, who is still really well and fit and lives alone. We can be so independent. One of the ladies at Leukaemia support group who is 86 is moving to a care home unit with her husband, she has mixed feelings, but knows it is the right thing to do. That's a lovely photo!!
