Lilly's baptism...
I've been caught up in family matters over the last few days and all because of this happy event -- granddaughter Lilly's christening. Pictured above are Addie (Godmother) Lauren (mother) and my sons, Richard (father) and Andrew (Godfather)
Happy and proud parents
The perfect baby -- didn't complain about being undressed and then dolled up in finery!
There was a lovely lunch afterwards, prepared by Richard. Two great-grandmothers were present, Lilly was handed around to many willing arms without complaint and a wonderful day was had by all.
Oh, and my cake was beautifully iced by a local cake shop, but I don't have a photo yet. And it tasted fine, too.
Back to writing soon...

What a lovely happy baby Lilly is!! And everyone else looks happy too!! I remember being baptised as I was 6 or 7!! There was no dunking or undressing, thank heavens!!!
Hey Barb - thanks for sending me through those lovely photos. Not only does Lilly look so cuddly and happy [can't wait to meet her] but Richard and Lauren look really well too. Have enjoyed reading all your entries on the blog, nice poem too Elliot. I must say the immersion part of the christening has drawn some comment from my immediate colleague here at work. Is that common practice now?
Hi Marg,
I don't think immersion is very common -- just at this particular church. Luckily, Lilly loves the water, so she didn't mind one bit. Lauren's mum cleaned the font the day before and claimed it was the cleanest font in the world!!
I'll pass on your comments about the poem to Elliot. He'll be chuffed.
Enough about the beautiful baby, how about the handsome devil with the beard?!?
He looks like he's been whipped together from the pages of a romance novel...
Do all aussie men have such smouldering good looks and dreamy eyes?
Well, hello, anonymous! And yes, of course all Aussie guys are this gorgeous. At least the ones in my life are.
