Sunday afternoon indulgence

It's another rainy Sunday afternoon here, and I think I just might give in and try this recipe I received the other day by email, courtesy of the wonderful Anne Gracie.
THE MOST DANGEROUS CAKE RECIPE
A RECIPE EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW
The most dangerous cake recipe 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar (that sounds like a lot. I think you could halve it)
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.EAT! (This can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

You are going to print this out straight away, aren't you????? Let me know how it goes.

I've made this recipe too, but I was not as brave as you and I made them in dessert bowls. You are quite right when you say it easily serves two. I couldn't eat any because it was chocolate, but the recipients assured me it had the self saucing pudding taste!!! It's pretty amazing!!

Barbara, they were talking about this very same recipe on my local radio station here in the UK this morning. The presenter had sent out for the ingedients to try it out there and then - but it was time for me to get up so I didn't hear how he got on. It's a clearly a world-wide indulgence. And as I need to lose weight...

I need to lose weight, too, Margaret...
and when I made this chocolate cake, I got a headache, (You were wiser than I, 2paw) so although it was yummy (I did share it) I may not make it often.
But it is fun, isn't it? Such a novelty.
